We blinked and suddenly we’re celebrating 30 years of Workplace Interiors Co. No, you heard us right. For over three decades(!), we’ve pioneered the commercial interiors industry, evolving into a dynamic group of brands that provide complete workplace solutions, all under one roof.
With our 30th birthday fast approaching (24th May – take note in your diaries), it’s only natural for us to reflect on the long, fruitful history of our company. As a family-founded business, we’re incredibly proud of our team’s growth – we now have over 60 fabulous employees!
So, without further ado, join us as we take a walk down memory lane..
1993 – Contract Interior Systems Founded
On a tiny farm in Cheltenham, Contract Interior Systems (CIS) was born. We started as a small, family-founded team, providing supply and fit out solutions to businesses in Gloucestershire.
Helping modern businesses overcome the challenges of the ever-changing workplace became our bread and butter. We strived to help companies provide a better space where amazing work can happen.
In these earlier Contract Interior Systems years, we gathered a wide plethora of skills and developed our knowledge bank into one that fast tracked our future brands’ route to success.
2010 – Ceiling Tiles UK Launched
Throughout our work as Contract Interior Systems, we noticed a gap in the market and demand from customers for suspended ceiling tiles to be easily ordered online. Using our expertise, we established Ceiling Tiles UK (CTUK).
Our e-commerce brand has since become the leading online distributor of suspended ceiling tiles, giving businesses across the UK reasons to look up (literally). With a stock of over 220 tiles as well as ceiling kits, gridwork and lighting, we proudly offer high quality suspended ceiling solutions, nationwide.
The launch of Ceiling Tiles UK also marked the start of our rapid company growth. To support the demand from our customers, our team expanded and grew, along with the level of service we provided to offer high end workplace solutions.
2018 – Glass Partitioning UK Launched
Next to launch was Glass Partitioning UK (GPUK). Our team’s headquarters is based in London. Our services specialise in the design, supply and fit of modern glass partitioning across the length and breadth of Great Britain. Basically, we oversee glass installations across the country, from schools to offices.
We offer a variety of glazed glass walls and instant project quotes to suit the different requirements of the modern office, making stunning glass offices simple, easy and affordable.
2019 – Gravity Office Interiors Launched
Just a year later, Gravity Office Interiors was launched. Born from the need for more complete, high spec and design-led fit outs, our team specialise in efficient office design and build services. We offer unbeatable skill and attention to detail when it comes to optimising offices in and around Gloucestershire.
Our team provide complete commercial interior projects and end-to-end project management to help turn vision into a reality. We specialise in space optimisation, taking a humancentric approach to create neurodiverse workspaces that support employee patterns and preferences.
We’ve even developed a data-driven space calculator that analyses your bespoke needs, providing a design guide and accurate space plan.
2019 – Search Station Launched
To support our co-brands, Search Station followed. Our marketing team are a lead and traffic generation agency. Although a smaller group, we offer mighty skills and enthusiasm for digital marketing and the power of helping businesses, such as our own, grow. 2020 – Workplace Interiors Company Cheltenham Established
With the launch of our co-brands, we thought it was only right to house them together under one group. This would make it easier for our customers and centralise our services so that we became go-to for all commercial interior solutions.
That name? Workplace Interiors Company Cheltenham. It’s quite the mouthful, so you’ll likely see us referred to as Workplace Interiors Co or WIC. Together, our group provide solutions that meet our customers’ every need, all in one place.
2020 – Workplace Interior Shop Launched
Wait, we weren’t done growing just yet!
Noticing a new demand from our customers, we not long after launched Workplace Interior Shop (WIS). This is our online, one-stop-shop for all workplace interior needs, supplying high quality building materials from ceilings, floors, walls – and everything in between.
Our online shop prides itself on going that extra mile, offering rapid delivery, material calculations and competitive price matches.
2023 – Lake & Co. Flooring Launched
One of our newest brands to join the Workplace Interiors Company group is Lake & Co. Flooring. With ceilings and walls covered, it made sense to complete the set with our team of flooring specialists. Our mission is to provide our customers with practical, fit for purpose commercial floor that looks good and lasts!
